Dr. Alexander Young is a licensed psychologist in Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Hawaii, California, Florida, and New York, and participates in PSYPACT, allowing him to provide telehealth services across multiple states. He is also a licensed professional counselor supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas.
Dr. Young specializes in presurgical and health evaluations and has extensive experience working with diverse populations, including individuals managing chronic illnesses, HIV, substance use concerns, and serious mental health conditions. He has a background in integrated health psychology, primary care behavioral health (PCBH), and gastrointestinal (GI) psychology, and has led seminars on bariatric surgery, addiction, suicide prevention, and behavioral interventions for medical conditions.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Young has contributed to the field through research, publications, and professional presentations on health and clinical psychology.
Dr. April Abrego earned her doctorate in counseling psychology (Psy.D.) from Our Lady of the Lake University. She completed her APA-accredited internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, followed by a two-year postdoctoral residency in pediatric neuropsychology at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
She has extensive experience in pediatric psychology, neuropsychology, and vocational rehabilitation, with a background in evaluating and supporting individuals with complex medical and psychological conditions. Dr. Abrego has also contributed to research, teaching, and clinical supervision.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Abrego enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with their four children and two Great Pyrenees, Mamas and Fluff.
Priscilla Garcia is the Clinical Intake Coordinator at our practice, overseeing the intake process and assisting patients with scheduling and paperwork. She has a background in customer service, front office management, and crisis intervention and is certified in crisis care.
In addition to intake coordination, Priscilla supervises two psychology students who serve as childwatch attendants and office assistants. She ensures that administrative operations run smoothly and that patients receive timely support.
